The company is holding a license for the exploration of Kogalym oil and gas fields; in 2001 the production of oil reached 2 mln. tons and gas amounted to 143 million cubic meters.

According to the data from Sverdlovsk Committee for Statistics the company is a leader among top 100 Ural enterprises in the integrated performance index. Northgas is incorporated in Russia with the primary purpose of exploring for and then producing gas from  gas-condensate reservoirs (neocomian) of North-Urengoy field (the license SLX 13513 NE).

• construction of surface facilities, production facilities and related infrastructure within the area we are licensed to operate in;
• development of the gas and gas-condensate fields;
• production and processing of natural gas and gas-condensate;
• marketing and sales of natural gas, gas-condensate and petroleum products.
